Felt Stockings

A few years ago I made a lot of little felt stockings that sold very well at craft fairs.

I wanted to bring them back this year with some different decorations. I started by doing some fancier Christmas designs. Love the gingerbread man!

Then I made a range of dog stockings to go along with my felt dog decorations. I've already put these in my Etsy shop and they've been quite popular.

To reach a different market I've made some superhero stockings, since the super hero crochet balls I made last year did so well.

And then I made a few character stockings which I think are so cute! I've got Pikachu, Olaf and Peppa Pig.

These are the perfect size for a little chocolate bar, or they'd look great with a few candy canes sticking out the top. Or even a few pens and pencils if you fancy a stationary stocking!

Felt Stockings

In this photo I posted about the Christmas Craft Fair I did the weekend before last you may have noticed the little stockings I had for sale.

They came about after a trip to, yes, the Scrap Store where my Mum bought this bag of Christmas coloured felt pieces for £2.00. I think I owe her £2.00.

On the drive home we came up with the idea of making little stockings to sell.

I printed a stocking template of the internet, cut out the pieces and stitched away.

I decorated the stockings with shiny stars and ribbon. 

This particular chocolate bar is the perfect size to fit in the stockings so I stocked up on those.

I made 6 stockings for that craft fair and sold 4, with one woman wanting 8 so I gave her the details of the next fair I'll be at where I'll be ready with more than enough.

Twas the night before Christmas

Here's another little Christmas craft to share with you.

I've had these wooden people photo holders for a while but never go round to decorating one. Until now.

I made a Christmas elf with a traditional red and green outfit, a cute face with rosey cheeks and stuck on pointy ears and hat.

I've use it to hold my Christmas card from my parents.

Aren't meerkats hilarious?

Paper bag stockings

I saw these paper stockings on Rock Scissor Paper and wanted to have a go myself. They used a Christmas Trader Joe's paper bag, but I happened to have one from Starbucks so I used that.

I drew a template and cut out six stockings from the paper bag and then six more from some thick card. I stuck the paper to the card and punched holes all the way around. Then I sewed green and red wool around the edges and strung all the stockings together to make a garland.

I gave it to my friend who works at Starbucks, you know, the one I made this Starbucks cup for. She said she's going to put it up at work.
