Aliens

If I'm going to be making planets, then I'll need some aliens to live on them.

Check out these little guys!
I got the idea from this website.

If you make the alien by wrapping the pipe cleaner around your finger then it doubles as a finger puppet.

I experimented with putting tissue paper over the string balloon which creates an interesting texture for this guys to hang out on.

Busy Bees

I recently found this in my house. I've no idea where it's from, I don't think me or either of my sisters gave it to my Mum, and besides, Mother's Day was ages ago. While I was wondering where it came from I noticed this little guy.

And I thought, 'I could do that'. So I did.

It's super easy to make and you don't need much.

Just take a black and a yellow pipe cleaner and cut them in half. This means you can make two!
Then wrap them around your finger.

Stick some googly eyes on the fuzzy fella.

Bend a sparkly pipe cleaner into a kind of heart shape for the wings and poke it into the bee's body.

And you're done.
I chose to tie some thread around the wings so I could hang my bee from places.

Pine cone people

Here's how to make pine cone people:

The two main things I used are pine cones, which I picked up from a local woods, and pipe cleaners.

I had wanted to use a wooden ball or something similar for the head, but I didn't have any, so I made a loop with a pipe cleaner and twisted it round the end of the pine cone instead.

For a simpler pine cone person I painted the cone with acrylic paint and attached a pine cleaner head.

I twisted a pipe cleaner around the middle of the pine cone and added beads for the hands...

...and did then same for the legs and used beads for the feet.

And then it's done!

Birthday goodies

When my friends asked me what I wanted for my birthday I just answered "crafty things" and they definitely delivered!
I got a packet of felt, feathers, pipe cleaners, shells, mirror bits, sequins, lots of beads and 2 tub o' buttons.

So then I got to thinking about what I could make with it all.

How about this button covered wine glass from Creative Jewish Mom.

Or I could use the shells to decorate pots like Martha Stewart.

And I could use the pipe cleaners to make fun finger puppets like Sparkplugging.

The possibilities are endless.
