Haunted House Kids Craft

As I mentioned earlier, we made haunted houses at art club on Saturday.
What, this house doesn't look that haunted?
Wait for it...

What's this??

A whole bunch of creepy characters!

The house is pretty simple to make. You get a cereal box and turn it inside out. Then cut holes for the windows and doors, and decorate the outside, Draw some creepy characters and stick them on black paper, making sure they line up with the windows, and add a long strip of paper.

Cut slits in the side of the house the same width as the strip of paper. Slip the paper through the slits and seal up the box.

Then have a bit too much fun making the characters appear and disappear whilst making ghost noises, like I've been doing.

Halloween

Halloween was on Monday and I went as an impaled girl!

I think my costume was pretty awesome if I do say so myself.
And it cost me all of £1.30 and that was for the t-shirt from a charity shop.

The pole was a cardboard tube that I painted silver and put a belt through one end which was hidden under my t-shirt. Sneaky.
A little drippy mouth blood, black eyes and messy hair and it's creepy time!

My friend Natalie went as a scary doll, Lucy was Lady Gaga and Ryan was a scarecrow.

We went to our SU bar and I'm pleased to say the pole held up to all the dancing.

Did you dress up for Halloween?
Do you prefer a creepy costume or dressing up as a character?

Pumpkin fun

I don't usually bother too much with Halloween but this year my sister bought a pumpkin so she could make pumpkin pie. So after she gutted it, I got to carving it. Now, bare in mind I don't do this regularly so my carving skills aren't up to scratch.
I'd seen online the technique of only cutting away some of the pumpkin so you can create a better picture, so that's what I tried with the ghost.

Lights on *clap clap*

Lights off. Spooky.

Here's some alternative pumpkin decorating ideas from around the web. The interweb. Not a creepy spiders web.

I love this sparkly, sequin pumpkin from The Swell Life.

That cool couple over at Young House Love had fun with puffy paint for their pumpkins this year. It's more chic than scary but I like it.
And I think this pumpkin snake from Martha Stewart is worth a mention. Just whoah.
